The Conveyor
Industrial materials-recovery facility
- Year
- 2022
A study of an industrial building type through its own mechanics. The Conveyor organizes an incineration area, production building, service buildings, and maintenance building around a single working yard, with a triangulated timber lattice screen marking the points where the public — and the building's own workers — pass through the facade.
The renderings stage the building in active use: trucks loading at the dock, forklifts moving material, workers in protective equipment crossing the yard. The architecture is legible as infrastructure first — a building whose primary job is to move material efficiently — and as civic presence second.
